During MASH/MASLD, activation of Stellate cells leads to deposition of extracellular matrix proteins within the Space of Disse, impairing nutrient, drug, and waste transport from the liver sinusoid to hepatocytes. The multi-cellular complex interplay between Stellate Cells, Hepatocytes, Innate Immune cells, and Liver Sinusoidal Endothelial creates a vicious feedback loop that drives inflammation.
